IMG senior information Porter McMichael experiences that the group moved up on Sunday to La Joya, close to to the Paso de Cortes, and within the afternoon they took one other good acclimatization hike, ascending a number of thousand toes on the slopes of Ixta.  Right now they may do a closing acclimatization hike after which this afternoon they’ll work on getting ready for a really early morning begin, at nighttime.  Tomorrow shall be a giant day, as they climb to over 17,000 toes on the 8th highest mountain in North America.  Ixta is usually known as “the sleeping girl” because the profile of the mountain exhibits the pinnacle,  chest, knees, and toes, and the climbing route ascends through the “knees”.
